Tasting tours are just the ticket to titillate tourists and locals. That’s the message the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) shares as it inducts Vancouver Foodie Tours into its Canadian Signature Experience (CSE) program.

The tourism arm of the federal government announced yesterday that the Vancouver-based gastronomic guides earned its stamp of approval as one of the country’s most noteworthy experiences to attract foreign visitors.

“We are thrilled to join the ranks of other extraordinary, genuine Canadian companies across the country,” says Michelle Ng, owner of Vancouver Foodie Tours “Especially when we work hard to highlight the best B.C. has to offer. Not sure what to do in Vancouver? Vancouver food tours are a great place to start!”

The CTC’s latest cohort of 28 National businesses, including Vancouver Foodie Tours, will be added to the major market development program. The CSE entrants represent a range of diverse, multicultural experiences from coast to coast to coast that appeal to everyone from young, independent travellers to group tourists.

“The Canadian Signature Experiences collection recognizes truly authentic Canadian experiences that entice travellers and position Canada as a destination of choice on the world stage while creating jobs and growth here at home,” says the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism) (Agriculture).

Vancouver Foodie Tours serves up food tasting and educational walking excursions that provide hungry guests with a smorgasbord of wild seafood, free-range poultry and locally grown leafy goodness. Between its Guilty Pleasures Gourmet and World’s Best Food Truck tours, VFT treats tourists’ taste buds to a heaping helping of all of Vancouver’s tastiest temptations.
