ICE CREAM UPDATE: NEW AND COMING SOON

What’s the best thing to do on a hot summer day in Vancouver? Go for ice cream, of course! As you know, the VFT Foodies are constantly eating our way through Vancouver and we’ve discovered some new ice cream stops to add to your list!

NEW: Roosters Ice Cream Bar
1039 E Broadway (East Vancouver)
Open 7 days a week, 12-10pm

There’s a new place to visit in East Vancouver and they’re serving up colourful scoops of artisan ice cream and sweet treats. Started by three friends who shared a love of ice cream, they’ve cooked up unique flavours like Fresh Lemon Poppyseed and Triple Strawberry Vanilla Bean, as well as local favourites like Rockstar Whisky & Hazelnut and Blueberry & Balsamic.

NEW: UYU Ice Cream
433 Abbott St (Downtown Vancouver)
It’s so new…you need to check their FACEBOOK PAGE for hours!

If you’re staying, working, or strolling in downtown Vancouver, rejoice! There’s a new gourmet destination to beeline for. UYU Ice Cream is officially open on Abbott St (on the same block as Tacomio). UYU uses all organic milk and ingredients and you’ll soon be able to enjoy UYU ice cream in two ways: soft serve or as an ice cream bar! We love UYU’s unique, geometric design that brings a new dimension to Gastown – Vancouver’s historic neighbourhood!

At the moment, UYU just has soft serve but they’re hoping to have their ice cream bars ready soon. There are lots of toppings to add and everyone gets a free drizzle sauce!

COMING SOON: La Glace Ice Cream

If you’ve popped into Williams Sanoma (as a foodie does every now and again), you may have spotted La Glace’s pastel table inside the store. La Glace is actually a Vancouver-based company, and a gourmet one, at that! They specialize in premium French ice cream, which is thicker, silkier, and more-custard like than the traditional North-American ice cream that foodies know and love. At the moment, La Glace has a kitchen on Main Street and a mobile ice cream cart, but they do not have retail shop…yet. Keep your eye out for a permanent home soon!
