Vancouver Foodie Tours Aims to Reduce Self-Isolation Stress with Granville Island Foodie Delivery
Selected foods from world famous market will be packaged and delivered to raise homebound spirits, support merchants and share local foodie goodness.
VANCOUVER BC – These days, we all have to practice responsible social distancing. So while their live events are on pause, Vancouver Foodie Tours is delivering the tastes, scents, discovery and magic of Vancouver’s world-famous Public Market right into peoples’ homes.
“Since people can’t get out to enjoy our local food scene, we wanted to bring the Public Market foodie experience to them,” says Vancouver Foodie Tours Founder Michelle Ng, “It’s a way to practice self-care, support our hardworking Granville Island Public Market Merchants and reconnect people with some local foodie favourites.”
Granville Island Foodie Delivery kits are available in three curated packages, for individuals, couples and families. Foodies can also customize their own kits from a selection of delectable food items they can choose online at foodietours.ca/granville-island-foodie-delivery.
“The health of our customers and team is paramount,” says Ng, “Each kit is packed by one individual wearing a mask, gloves and following the latest hygiene protocols and FOODSAFE™ practices.
“This is a way for people to support their local food culture and keep people working while we all stay responsibly isolated,” Ng continues, “We have customers buying kits for friends, family, clients – some even buy a kit for themselves as well, so they can share the same taste experiences at home with friends over a video call.”
The packages also include printed stories and online access to a virtual guided tour of the history of Granville Island, Public Market vendors, and the food products themselves.
Ng believes delivering foodie goodness can go a long way to helping people cope with social distancing. “People have to stay home for the health of the community, but you can still share local foodie love.”
