Canadians love beer. Have you heard? We like it with our hockey, we like it with our happy hours. We like it on a hot summer day, a cold winter night, with friends, with strangers, or hanging at the beach with our pets.

With over 50 microbreweries in the Greater Vancouver area, Vancouver has quickly become Canada’s top destination for craft beer. Vancouver is also North America’s most walkable city…isn’t it nice when everything just falls into place?

With hoppy delights in every direction, here’s our guide for the Best Places to Enjoy Craft Beer in Vancouver

***VFT’S FAVOURITE PICK***
Red Truck Brewery
295 E 1st Ave

Craft beer Vancouver, Red Truck Brewery

For 10 years, Red Truck has been an on-tap staple in the city, but they’ve finally built a place to call their own. With white wooden paneling, a sun-soaked patio, and tires for sinks, they’ve channeled all the swagger of their beer into their E 1st Avenue location. Unlike other craft breweries in Vancouver, the “Truck Stop Diner” boasts some serious eats. From Asian BBQ Pork Belly Sandwiches to Chili Cheese Dogs, there is no point of compromise for your palate if you spend the whole day here.

33 Acres Brewing Company
15 W 8th Ave

33 Acres Vancouver, Craft beer Vancouver

33 Acres was one of the first craft breweries to populate the Main Street neighbourhood and beer-lovers in Vancouver hold them in the highest regard. It’s here where the refillable growler, food trucks out front, and pop-up dinners sprung to life. The tasting room is small, minimalistic, and quiet. On lazy afternoons, bikes are parked out front and laptops are open inside. If you’ve got a palate for silky smooth, unfiltered white ales, you’ve got to try 33 Acres of Sunshine!

Granville Island Brewing Company
1441 Cartwright St, Granville Island

If you love beer and you’re in Vancouver, no trip is complete without a visit to Granville Island Brewery. The brewery is seated in the middle of Granville Island – perfect for a stop along the seawall or a jovial afternoon after our Granville Island Market Tour. Every one of the beers here is inspired by the West Coast – locals swears by the English Bay Pale Ale and the Maple Shack Cream Ale.

Brassneck Brewery
2148 Main St

Brassneck Brewery, Craft Beer Vancouver

There are hops in this shop and you’ll know it as soon as you walk in the door! Brassneck Brewery has the smell of fresh hops lingering in the air to get you in the mood to purchase a growler or to grab a drink in their rustic hideaway. After a few flights of beer, you’ll find it tough to resist the stacks of Cheddar Bacon Twisty Bread up at the counter or the local food truck thats’s often parked out front!

Craft Beer Market
85 W 1st Ave, Olympic Village

Who else can say they have over 100 beers on tap? Who else has a keg room that can house 450 kegs? In this city, it’s just Craft Beer Market. Craft took over one of Vancouver’s most historic buildings – the Salt Building – and transformed the 1930’s woodwork into a craft beer paradise with a central-island bar, two mezzanines, and over 400 seats. Though Craft Beer Market has ales from all around the globe, you’ll find all BC beers for $5 on Wednesdays.
