Why do you love Vancouver?

The thing I love most about Vancouver is that there is literally something for everyone. While this is especially true when it comes to food, it really goes beyond that. Whatever your interests are, no matter how obscure or mundane, you are guaranteed to find a group of people who love what you love. .

What’s a food you absolutely cannot resist?

Maybe it’s my low power of will but there are so many foods I can’t resist: waffles, sweets of any kind, popcorn, cheesecake, and so many more. My favourite may be pizza. I absolutely LOVE pizza and would eat it everyday if I could. Even bad pizza is still good.

What are your hobbies (besides eating)?

I am intensely hungry for stories in all their various forms. I love movies, books, and chatting with new people. I want to create stories of my own so I write as much as I can and love finding a great scenic view to sit down and map out my next big idea. More than that, I try to take these stories and make them come to life as a filmmaker. I love road trips regardless of how short the journey is; there is no better feeling than hitting the open highway with the windows down and the music blaring.

What does food mean to you?

To me, food is the gateway to culture. I think it is impossible to truly experience a culture without experiencing their food. The ingredient choices, spices, how it is prepared, and how it is enjoyed are all greatly intertwined within a given culture. By tasting a culture’s food and understanding what you eat, you can see the world through a brand new lens. 

Why do you love hosting Vancouver Foodie Tours?

What’s not to love?! I get to meet new people, hear new stories, and share food with others. We go on walks and take in the city and I always feel like I learn something new.
