What is the Gastronomic Gastown Tour?

A culinary exploration of Vancouver’s most-historic neighbourhood

Venture beyond the Steam Clock and experience the authentic Gastown. Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood is laden with iconic restaurants, legendary drinking establishments, and passionate people. Take Gastown like a local as we weave through the cobblestone maze of past and present, tasting and discovering something unique inside every door.

Inside an old tack shop, indulge in a classic Neopolitan-style pizza – officially VPN certified and winner of “Vancouver’s Best Pizzeria.” Through restaurant-filled alleyways, we reveal a modern tea shop with storied roots and one-of-a-kind high tea service. At the original site of Vancouver, we pay tribute to the father of Gastown in fitting fashion – with comfort food and cheerful pairings!

Our tour route is filled with picturesque points, but you’ll certainly want your camera close by for our sweet ending. These plated desserts are out-of-this-world in taste and presentation!

If you have a Dietary Restriction…

We encourage you to try everything on the tour as we have selected tastings that best exemplify the restaurants and food shops we feature. We can provide substitutions for vegetarians, pescetarians and those who do not drink alcohol. We unfortunately cannot cater to any other dietary restrictions, as there is not always a “next-best” option at our tasting locations.

Legal drinking age…

The legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19 years of age. You may be required to present your government issued ID to participate in alcohol tastings. Consider it a compliment!

Tours during the Winter Season

Our shoulder season is between October and April. During this time, we receive fewer bookings and as a result, not all tours will run. Please note that we require a minimum of 4 guests in order for us to cover the costs of running a tour. You can click here to view our tour schedule and see the number of guests booked on any given tour. The Gastronomic Gastown Tour takes up to 15 guests per tour. On the Book A Tour page, if you see the number of available seats is 8 or lower, we have met our minimum numbers and the tour will run. In the event that we do not meet our minimum numbers, we will email you a couple days before the tour to arrange for an alternate tour date or to offer a full refund.

Tour includes at least two resting locations for weary feet and jaw muscles. 18% gratuity extra.
