1. How does a Foodie Tour work?
These are walking city tours, with a progressive meal along the way. From one delicious stop to the next, you’ll learn facts about Vancouver’s history, architecture and culture. We’ll skip the lines to indulge in show-stopping foods and share expert recommendations and local tips!
2. What if I have Dietary Restrictions?
We offer vegetarian and pescetarian tastings on all Foodie Tours! All of our food and drink tastings are arranged in advance, so we ask that you note this in your online ticket purchase.
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee substitutions for other dietary restrictions such as: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, and other food allergies. For these diets, the Granville Island Market Tour is your best option, but you may miss out on a number of tastings.
3. What is the Best Tour for Children?
The Granville Island Market Tour is designed to be a fun event for the whole family – we offer a $10 discount for kids 12 and under! Tickets are required for children over 3 years old. Children 3 and under who will not be eating do not require a ticket. However, please email us in advance to let us know that you’ll have a little one with you!
4. How much do we eat?
We design all our tours like a progressive meal – savoury to sweet, in thoughtfully-crafted portions. By the end of the tour experience, most guests are fully-satisfied, as if they had a meal! For those with larger appetites, we recommend having something light prior to the Foodie Tour.
5. How do you choose the tour stops?
We handpick every one of our tastings and tasting locations. These are foods we crave and places we genuinely love to visit with our own friends and family. We pay our tasting locations for the tour tastings and we work together as partners in making memorable experiences for our guests.

Dietary Restrictions
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
We offer vegetarian and pescetarian tastings on all Foodie Tours, with exception to the Authentic Asian Eats Tour. All of our food and drink tastings are arranged in advance, so we ask that you note this in your online ticket purchase.
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee substitutions for other dietary restrictions such as: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, and other food allergies. For these diets, the Granville Island Market Tour is your best option, but you may miss out on a number of tastings. The Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Authentic Asian Eats Tour are not recommended for these dietary restrictions and we will contact you to refund your purchase.
If you leave us a note in your online ticket purchase, we will order alternate tastings wherever possible. In all cases, our tour guides will inform the group of the ingredients in each dish and leave it to the final discretion of each guest to partake.
Please note, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination may not occur due to the nature of our tasting locations.

Are there gluten-free options?
None of our Foodie Tours are 100% gluten-free. The Granville Island Market Tour has the fewest tastings that contain gluten and has been reviewed as a great experience by other gluten-friendly guests. The Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Authentic Asian Eats Tour are not recommended gluten-free diets and we will contact you to refund your purchase.

Children & Wheelchair Accessibility
What tours are best suited for children?
Granville Island Market Tour is designed to be a fun event for the whole family. For children who have a limited attention span, this tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually.
If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
Children 3 years old and under who will not be eating do not require a ticket. However, please email us in advance to let us know that you’ll have a little one with you! Tickets are required for children over 3, regardless of whether they will be participating in tastings.
Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?
For the most part, the Authentic Asian Eats Tour and Granville Island Market Tour can be catered to accommodate wheelchairs and baby strollers. If you have a mobility issue or plan on using a wheelchair or stroller and it prevents you from going up stairs, please email us after you complete your booking so that we are able to make special arrangements for you.

Purchasing Tickets
If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
Sorry, we do not currently offer a waiting list. We may open additional departures as tours fill, so keep your eye on our tour calendar!
Is there a minimum number of guests that must be registered before a tour will run?
From May-Sep, we require a minimum of 2 guests to run a tour. From Oct-Apr, our minimum number is 4 guests. In the event that we do not meet our minimum numbers, we will notify registered guests the day prior to the tour by email. A full refund will be offered to guests for cancelled tours.
What is the cancellation policy?
No refund or rescheduling will be provided for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance, or in case of no-show.
If I book multiple tours, do I get a discount?
Yes; after you purchase any tour, a pop up box with a 10% discount code will appear. This discount can be applied to your next purchase!
Are gift certificates available?

Can I book a private group tour?

Are discounts offered for those not participating in alcohol pairings?
Yes – if you are not participating in alcohol pairings, the price of the Gastronomic Gastown Tour is $94. 9instead of $129.99.
What is the additional pricing on my ticket?
There is a ticketing fee per ticket purchased: $3 for tickets under $99.99 and $4 for tickets over $100.
Can I use a discount and e-certificate together on my purchase?
No, discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with e-certificates.
What is the Money Back Guarantee?
If you don’t have an 100% awesome, totally fun and delicious Foodie Tour, contact us within 30 days and we’ll give you your money back!

Tour Logistics
How much walking is involved?
We walk at a moderate pace on all Foodie Tours, pausing often to share interesting facts. We cover the most distance (approx. 10 blocks) over the 3-hour Best of Downtown Tour and the least distance on the 2-hour Granville Island Market Tour.
Does the tour end at the same place we meet?
The Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Best of Downtown Tour do not finish at the same location as the meeting point. Vancouver Foodie Tour Guides will be happy to provide directions after the tour. Return trips can be accomplished by walking or taking a taxi. The Granville Island Market Tour begins and ends at the same location.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Bathrooms are available on the Gastronomic Gastown Tour, Best of Downtown Tour, and Granville Island Market Tour at select locations. We encourage guests to use the bathroom before the tour starts.
Are any beverages served on the tour?
Several beveragse are served on the Gastronomic Gastown Tour, Best of Downtown Tour and Granville Island Market Tour.
Is there parking near the tour meeting point?
Yes, there is paid public parkades located near the meeting point of the Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Best of Downtown Tour. Please do not park in metered parking spots as most have a limit of only two hours. There is paid parking on Granville Island for the Granville Island Market Tour.
What happens if it rains or snows?
The tours are held rain or shine. In the rare circumstance that a tour is being cancelled due to inclement weather, we will notify customers directly. Please check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately.

Does the Tour Guide accept gratuities?
If you enjoyed your Tour Guide’s services, gratuities are always appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 18%.
Are tours offered only in English?
The Granville Island Market Tour can be offered in Spanish for private tours.
What’s the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee?
If you join us on a Foodie Tour and you aren’t satisfied with your experience, let us know within 30 days and we’ll make things right with a full refund!
This guarantee extends to bookings made directly through our website at foodietours.ca. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund transactions made via third-party sites like Expedia, TripAdvisor, Booking.com etc.
