Vancouver Foodie Tours FAQ

We’re a new kind of tour built around one purpose: to generate happiness and appreciation. Instead of just “tasting spots,” you get hosted, story-rich experiences with small groups, VIP access (including exclusives you won’t get on your own), and genuine connections with local makers. As the only official food tour company on Granville Island, our long-standing relationships unlock smoother service and behind-the-scenes moments. Guests tell us they leave not only well fed, but more joyful, more excited, and with a deeper appreciation for Vancouver’s people, culture, and food—a transformation you don’t get from exploring on your own.

Yes. We’re the only official food tour company on Granville Island, with long-standing relationships that unlock skip-the-line service and exclusive vendor tastings.

Yes. Each tour is designed as a full meal (Granville Island = full lunch; Asian Eats = full lunch; Gastown = full dinner).

Examples include a 7-item charcuterie spread at Oyama, dual BC salmon tastings at Longliner, and tour-only activations like a make-your-own cocktail experience with chef partners. These aren’t available to walk-ins or other tours.

  • Granville Island: Families, first-timers, food lovers short on time
  • Gastown: Couples, celebrations, fine-dining fans
  • Asian Eats: Adventurous foodies who want authentic Asian flavors & culture

Vegetarian and pescatarian options are always available with advance notice. Vegan and severe allergy accommodations may be limited due to cross-contact at partner kitchens—email us before booking and we’ll advise honestly.

Absolutely. We host corporate events, team building, birthdays, and family celebrations with flexible timing, pacing, and custom touches.

Granville Island Market Tour FAQ

Your ticket includes a full meal with drinks and over 20 tastings across 10+ vendors — many of which are exclusive to Vancouver Foodie Tours. For example, our groups enjoy a beautiful 7-item charcuterie board at Oyama Sausage, a spread of 4 local BC cheeses and 2 BC smoked salmon tastings at Longliner Seafood — experiences not offered to individual shoppers or other tour groups. You’ll also benefit from VIP skip-the-line access and a guided journey with Granville Island’s only official food tour company.

The tour runs 2 hours (10:30 AM–12:30 PM, with additional times in peak season). It’s a multi-course dining experience, woven into a relaxed market walk—generous enough to replace a full meal. Unlike exploring on your own, you won’t spend time in lines or piecing together small bites; we pre-arrange and sequence the tastings into a seamless feast.

You’ll enjoy a chef’s-table style spread of Vancouver’s most celebrated foods: artisan cheeses, premium charcuterie, wild BC salmon, sourdough breads, Hobbs pickles, handmade chocolates, local chai, single-origin coffee, Lee’s Donuts, and more. The mix is carefully designed by our team with each artisan — meaning you won’t find this tasting progression anywhere else, even if you explored the market on your own.

Yes. Vegetarian and pescatarian alternates are available with advance notice. Because our tastings are pre-arranged with vendors, we can’t guarantee last-minute changes, and severe allergies may not be possible to fully accommodate due to cross-contact. What sets us apart is that we design experiences around care and inclusion — our team exists to generate happiness and appreciation for every guest, and we’ll always try our best to support your needs.

It’s a leisurely stroll with frequent tasting stops. All routes are wheelchair- and stroller-friendly with minimal walking distance. Unlike long walking tours, this is more about savoring food and stories than covering ground.

Absolutely. Families love this tour because it’s fun, filling, and interactive — kids enjoy donuts and chocolate while adults savor artisan foods and insider stories. Unlike typical tours, we focus on connection and joy — children are always welcome, and grandparents often call this the highlight of their family trip.

Everything you need for a full meal is included. Guests often remark that it’s far more food than expected. Of course, many choose to return to shops after the tour to pick up their favorites — and thanks to our relationships, you’ll receive exclusive discounts at select vendors.

Put simply: access, expertise, and heart. On your own, you’ll face long lines, limited samples, and the challenge of deciding where to eat. With us, you’ll skip the lines, enjoy exclusive tastings curated just for our guests, and be guided by a passionate foodie host. We are the only official food tour company on Granville Island, and the only one built on the purpose of creating happiness and appreciation — for you, for our artisan partners, and for our team. This isn’t just a food tour — it’s an experience you can’t DIY or find anywhere else in Vancouver.

The tour begins and ends at the Granville Island Public Market (meeting point shared in your confirmation). Look for our guide in a red Vancouver Foodie Tours shirt — you’ll be welcomed right into the heart of the island.

  • Water taxi (False Creek Ferry/AquaBus): A scenic 5–10 minute ride from downtown.
  • Transit + short walk: Easy and affordable.
  • Car or rideshare: Paid parking on the island (arrive early in summer).

We’ll provide exact directions in your confirmation.

Yes. You’ll meet Granville Island’s legendary food makers. Because we’ve partnered with them for over a decade, we enjoy special access and behind-the-scenes stories other groups can’t provide. It’s a true insider’s experience.

Not on this tour. The focus is on Vancouver’s culinary artisans and family-friendly tastings. If you’re looking for a food and drink experience, try our Gastronomic Gastown Tour (3–6 PM), which includes craft cocktails, wine, and beer pairings.

The Granville Island Market Tour is one of Vancouver’s most popular experiences and often sells out. To secure your spot, book as early as possible.
