Canada adds to it’s “Whisky of the Year” award with the “Supreme Global Champion” of cheese
An aged Lankaaster cheese made by Glengarry Cheesemaking of Lancaster, Ontario has won first place in the annual Global Cheese Awards! This year’s competition was hosted in Somerset, England and featured 167 categories.
The Lankaaster cheese is aged for approximately 2 years and has notes of caramel, butterscotch, pineapple and butter. Owner of Glengarry Cheesemaking, Margaret Peters says, “You eat a piece of (Lankaaster) and you want to go in a closet alone and keep eating it. It is a cheese that you will never forget the taste of.”
Glengarry Cheesemaking will keep the Global Cheese Awards trophy for one year.
