Foodie Tour Guide
What tours do you host?
I host the Granville Island Market Tour.
What are some of your favourite foodie memories?
My laidback, West Coast upbringing was definitely made more flavourful by many summers spent in the Czech Republic, where my family is from. Each day, my cousins and I were spoiled by my grandmother’s fabulous cooking and baking, which included dishes like: goulash, fruit dumplings, and breaded pork schnitzels. I love eating dishes from all over the world and I’ve been lucky to have travelled to some amazing places and experience great food along the way.
Is there a meal you’ll never forget?
Some memorable meals of mine include catching and eating AyamKampung (or “village chicken”) at a village cookout with locals in Lombok, Indonesia (don’t worry, they did the catching), or feasting on local seafood specialties like coquinas al ajillo (garlic clams), in the seaside town of Nerja in Andalucia, Spain.
What is your perfect day?
I’m a big fan of “extreme foodie days” when I fill my days in a new city with multiple food, snack, dessert, and drink stops. So far, Portland and New Orleans have taken the cake as my favourite places to do this!
Besides food, what are some of your passions?
Aside from loving to eat food and discovering restaurants, I love the outdoors and I’m an avid cyclist. My ideal summer activity is biking around the city with friends, discovering hidden gems and then breaking to picnic in the park.
Why is Vancouver the best city on earth?
What I love about Vancouver is that you can escape to the mountains, head down to the beach to soak up the vibes, swim in the ocean and have plenty of time to fit in a great meal at a local restaurant, all in one day!
Why do you love hosting Vancouver Foodie Tours?
I love meeting new people, travellers and local explorers alike! I’m excited to share the food culture of our great city with all the guests that come on Vancouver Foodie Tours.
