Aka. Foodie Monk
Foodie Monk, where do you get all your wisdom?
Well, I was born and raised on the West Coast of Canada, so I have truly seen the evolution of food in Vancouver.
What do you love about Vancouver Foodie Tours?
Like the rest of the VFT guides and our Chairwoman, I love to eat! I’m pretty non-discriminating when it comes to where and when. I enjoy our regular VFT eating-meetings when I get to hear all the latest dining places and treats to try out.
Okay, so what else do you like besides food?
I love to travel! With all of my trips, I try to combine the arts, culture and, of course, dining experiences.
What are your favourite food memories?
Some of my most-memorable meals or experiences are dining at the French Laundry (Yountville, California), enjoying the serene setting at UkaiToriyama (outside Tokyo, Japan), having pho in Vietnam, Singapore chili crab in Singapore, wiener schnitzel at Figlmueller in Vienna, Austria, barbecue steak dinner on a picnic table while watching lava flow down the side of Mount Arenal volcano in Costa Rica…and the food stories go on!
Why do you love hosting Vancouver Foodie Tours?
I love to meet new people and hear their favourite food or travel stories. I look forward to sharing and creating new experiences with guests when they come visit my hometown here in Vancouver!
