Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?
Tickets must be purchased in advance as the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Street Eats Tour often sell out ahead of time. To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Vancouver Foodie Tours tickets can only be purchased online through PayPal. Cash is not accepted.

If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not currently provide a waiting list.

How much food is served on the food tour?
Vancouver Foodie Tours serves enough food that for most participants, a meal afterwards is not necessary. With the combination of drink and food tastings combined with architectural, cultural, and historical anecdotes, most participants are comfortably full after our food tours. Please understand our Vancouver food tours are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating breakfast before the tour.

How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?
Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour runs for approximately 3 hours, and World’s Best Street Eats Tour  runs for approximately 2 hours. Participants can expect to be standing or walking for the majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace. Participants on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour can expect at least two resting locations for at least 30 minutes in total. There are street benches at some of the tasting locations on the World’s Best Street Eats Tour and we are outdoors for the entire tour.

Do your tours have anything to offer a native Vancouverite?
A majority of Vancouver Foodie Tours attendees live right here in Vancouver. Vancouver locals participate to learn about the neighborhoods and the city in which they live. Almost all participants will taste and learn something new that they have not experienced before the tour.

Does the Tour Guide accept gratuities?
If you enjoyed your Tour Guide’s services, gratuities are always appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please be sure to let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

Can I shop during the tour?
We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule and continue with the tour and food tastings in a timely manner. We ask you to allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite locations. The tours are on a schedule to arrive at each tasting location, therefore, it is important to stay on schedule so the food can be enjoyed at its freshest for all the participants.

When is the best time to take the tour?
If you are visiting from out of town, we highly recommend taking our Vancouver food tours at the beginning of your visit to allow plenty of time to revisit the wonderful neighborhoods you discover during the tour, and to take advantage of the exclusive privileges offered to you.

What about taking children on the tour?
The World’s Best Street Eats Tour is designed to be a fun event for the whole family. We offer discounted tickets for children on the World’s Best Street Eats Tour. This is a shorter tour, where we will be outdoors for the entire time visiting Vancouver food carts. For children who have a limited attention span, this tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child. The Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour is an experience more suitable for adults. There are no discounted tickets available for children on this tour, all children over the age of 2 will have to purchase a ticket to attend, regardless of whether they will be participating in the tastings.

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?
The Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Street Eats Tour routes and tasting establishments are accessible by wheelchairs and baby strollers.

Are gift certificates available?
Yes, Gift Certificates are available for our tours. To purchase or learn more about our gift certificates, please visit our Gift Certificates page.

Can I book a private group tour?
Yes, Private Group Tours are available for all of our tours. To learn more, please visit our Private Group Tours page and submit a Private Group Tour Request Form. We will respond to your enquiry promptly.

Are there vegetarian options on the tour?
Yes, all tours offer alternative tasting options for vegetarians.

Are any beverages served on the tour?
All Vancouver Foodie Tours have drink tastings included in the tour. Beverages will be served at the majority of the tasting locations on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour. We encourage participants to bring a refillable bottle of water to the World’s Best Street Eats Tour to keep hydrated where we will be serving 1-2 drink tastings. This is part of our effort to reduce the number of disposable bottles used in Vancouver, supporting the city’s goal to become the greenest city by 2020. You may also purchase water and/or beverages at the beginning of all tours at the specified meeting locations.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?
No, Vancouver Foodie Tours do not finish at the same location as the meeting point. However, detailed instructions are provided on the website with starting and ending locations. All participants will receive a guide booklet complete with return directions during the tour. Return trips can be accomplished by walking or taking a taxi.

Is wine tasting included on the tour?
A wine tasting as well as beer and sake tastings are included on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour. 1-2 non-alcoholic beverages are included on the World’s Best Street Eats Tour .

Are discounts offered for those not participating in alcohol pairings?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer discounted pricing for those not participating in alcohol tastings.

What types of foods are served on the tour?

Do we only walk around and sample food?
Vancouver Foodie Tours combines culinary insight, cultural commentary and historical facts  into an exciting fun-filled experience. Imagine walking through Vancouver eating our local artisans’ most celebrated food, learning about the significance of the dish to the city, and how the dishes were prepared, meeting the talents behind the scene, and learning all about the city of Vancouver. What restaurants will we visit on the tour?
A list of all the tasting locations can be found on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Street Eats Tour page. However, please know that food-tasting locations can change due to factors beyond our control.

Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time. Please contact us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.

What happens if it rains or snows?
The tours are held rain or shine. We will notify participants if a tour is being cancelled due to snow. Please check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately.

If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
If you are bringing a child aged 2 or younger and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, please do let us know when you purchase tickets in the Notes section. Tickets are required for children aged 2 and older regardless of whether they will be participating in tastings.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Bathrooms are available on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour at selected food-tasting locations. Bathrooms are unfortunately not available on the World’s Best Street Eats Tour as we are outdoors for the entire duration visiting food carts and food trucks that do not offer bathroom facilities. The World’s Best Street Eats Tour is also a shorter tour as a result. Please use the bathroom before the start of the tour.

Is there parking near the tour meeting point?
Yes, there is public parking located near the meeting point of the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Street Eats Tour. Specific parking details will be emailed to you after you purchase your tour tickets .

Is there a minimum number of guests that must be registered before a tour will run?
We require a minimum of 4 guests to run a tour. In the event that we do not meet our minimum numbers, we will notify registered guests the evening prior to the tour by email.
