So…how does it work?

Eat, walk, learn, and repeat! Over the course of the tour, you’ll journey from one tasting location to the next, learning interesting facts about Vancouver’s history, architecture and culture along the way. You’ll skip the lines at award-winning restaurants to indulge in show-stopping dishes and bites, and collect lots of recommendations and tips from your local guide.

Do I have to book a ticket in advance?

Yes, absolutely! We place all of our food and beverage orders in advance, so it’s essential to book your ticket ahead of time. As such, we’re unable to accept walk-up guests or cash payments. Tickets can be purchased online up to 3-hours prior to your tour. 

When should I take my tour?

At the beginning of your trip! This is the #1 insight that we hear from our guests. Your expert Foodie Tour Guide will be able to share additional recommendations, local insight, and other must-do activities for the rest of your time in Vancouver!

How much do we eat?

We design all of our tours like a progressive meal – savoury to sweet, in thoughtfully-crafted portions. You’ll enjoy a series of tastings – some large, some bite-sized – but not anything you’ll need to hunker down for in one sitting. By the end of the tour experience, most guests are fully-satisfied, as if they had a meal!

For those with larger appetites, we recommend a light breakfast prior to our morning tours or a light lunch prior to our afternoon departures.

How do you choose the tasting locations?

Our tastings and tasting locations are chosen by our dedicated team of foodies. (We love good food!) Each tours highlights places that we genuinely love, crave, and often visit with our own friends and family! We pay our tasting locations for the food and beverages featured on each tour, as we are valued partners in making memorable experiences for our guests.

Purchasing Tickets

If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not currently offer a waiting list.

Are gift certificates available?
Yes, Gift Certificates are available for our tours! To purchase or learn more about our gift certificates, please visit our Gift Certificates page.
Can I book a private group tour?
Yes, Private Group Tours are available for all of our tours. To learn more, please visit our Private Group Tours page and submit a Private Group Tour Request Form. We will respond to your enquiry within 1-2 business days.
Is there a minimum number of guests that must be registered before a tour will run?
During the summer season, we require a minimum of 2 guests to run a tour. During the winter season, our minimum number is 4 guests. In the event that we do not meet our minimum numbers, we will notify registered guests the day prior to the tour by email. A full refund will be offered to guests for cancelled tours.
Are discounts offered for those not participating in alcohol pairings on the Gastronomic Gastown Tour or Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour?
Yes, if you are not participating in alcohol pairings, the cost of the tour is $79.99, instead of $99.99
What tours are best suited for children?
The World’s Best Food Truck Tour is designed to be a fun event for the whole family. This is a shorter tour, where we will be outdoors for the entire time visiting Vancouver food carts. For children who have a limited attention span, this tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child. The Granville Island Market Tour is also a nice tour for children with minimal walking, and time spent primarily indoors.
If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
If you are bringing a child aged 3 or younger and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, please email us in advance to let us know that you’ll have a little one accompanying you! Tickets are required for children over 3 years old regardless of whether they will be participating in tastings.
What is the cancellation policy?
No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance, or in case of no-show.
Are there additional fees on my ticket?
There is a $2 ticketing fee per ticket purchased.
Can I use a discount and e-certificate together on my purchase?
No, discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with e-certificates.

How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?
The Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour run for approximately 3 hours, and the World’s Best Food Truck Tour  and Granville Island Market Tour run for approximately 2 hours. Participants can expect to be standing or walking for the majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace.
Participants on the Gastronomic Gastown Tour and Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour can expect at least three resting locations for at least 30 minutes in total. There are street benches at some of the tasting locations on the World’s Best Food Truck Tour and we are outdoors for the entire tour. Most of the Granville Island Market Tour takes place indoors, and requires minimal walking, approximately 250 meters in total.

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?
For the most part, the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet TourWorld’s Best Food Truck Tour and Granville Island Market Tour can be catered to accommodate wheelchairs and baby strollers. If you have a mobility issue or plan on using a wheelchair or stroller and it prevents you from going up stairs, please email us after you complete your booking so that we are able to make special arrangements for you.
Does the tour end at the same place we meet?
The Gastronomic Gastown Tour, Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Food Truck Tour do not finish at the same location as the meeting point. Vancouver Foodie Tour Guides will be happy to provide directions after the tour. Return trips can be accomplished by walking or taking a taxi. The Granville Island Market Tour begins and ends at the same location.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Bathrooms are available on the Gastronomic Gastown TourGuilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and Granville Island Market Tour at select locations. Bathrooms are not available on the World’s Best Food Truck Tour as we are outdoors for the entire duration visiting food carts and food trucks that do not offer bathroom facilities. We encourage guests to use the bathroom before the tour starts.
Are any beverages served on the tour?
Several beverages are served on the Gastronomic Gastown Tour,  Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and Granville Island Market Tour . We typically serve one beverage on the World’s Best Food Truck Tour, and as such, we encourage participants to bring a refillable bottle of water to to keep hydrated. This is part of our effort to reduce the number of disposable bottles used in Vancouver, supporting the city’s goal to become the greenest city by 2020. You may also purchase water and/or beverages at the beginning of all tours at the specified meeting locations.
Can I shop during the tour?
We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule and continue with the tour and food tastings in a timely manner. The tours are on a schedule to arrive at each tasting location at prearranged times, therefore, it is important to stay on schedule so the tastings can be enjoyed at its freshest for everyone’s enjoyment.
Is there parking near the tour meeting point?
Yes, there is paid public parkades located near the meeting point of the Gastronomic Gastown TourGuilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour and World’s Best Food Truck Tour. Please do not park in metered parking spots as most have a limit of only two hours. There are free 3 hour parking spots at select locations within Granville Island for the Granville Island Market Tour.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
We are able to offer delicious vegetarian and pescetarian tastings on all of our tours! As all our food and drink tastings are arranged in advance, simply use the prompt to specify your order when you purchase your ticket online.

Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee tastings for other dietary restrictions or allergies such as gluten free/dairy free as not all of our tasting locations are able to offer alternatives. Please specify any severe allergies when making your booking and we will order alternative tastings where possible. In all cases, our expert tour guides will inform the group of the ingredients in each dish and leave it to the final discretion of each guest to partake. Please note, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination may not occur due to the nature of our tasting locations.

Are there vegetarian options on the tour?
Yes! Simply fill out the prompt to specify your order when you purchase your ticket online, as all food and drink tastings are ordered in advance. We are able to provide delicious options for vegetarians and pescetarians on all of our tours!

Do your tours have anything to offer a native Vancouverite?
Many of Vancouver Foodie Tours attendees live right here in Vancouver! Vancouver locals participate to learn about the neighbourhoods and the city in which they live. Locals often marvel at how many new tastes and interesting facts they learn on our Foodie Tours!

Does the Tour Guide accept gratuities?
If you enjoyed your Tour Guide’s services, gratuities are always appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 18%.

Are tours offered only in English?
Public tours are offered in English only at this time. We offer private tours in English, Spanish and French, subject to availability.

What happens if it rains?
The tours are held rain or shine. In the rare circumstance that a tour is being cancelled due to inclement weather, we will notify customers directly. Please check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately.
